Service Technicians
Job Description:
The technicians at Knight Security install, maintain and troubleshoot commercial and residential burglary, fire detection, access control, medical monitoring, environmental monitoring and other types of security systems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Preparing for security/fire alarm installations by reviewing installation orders, gathering equipment, supplies, and tools.
- Coordinating schedules with customers
- Planning security/fire alarm installations by surveying and evaluating location, identifying alarm installation requirements, and laying-out equipment and wiring plan.
- Establishing security/fire alarm systems by installing equipment, running and pulling wiring, and programming and calibrating equipment while adhering to codes, regulations, and standards.
- Verifying security/fire alarm system functioning by testing equipment, connections, and signals and correctly identifying and correcting problems.
- Maintaining records by documenting installation.
- Maintaining customer rapport by resolving concerns and answering questions.
- Maintaining safe and secure work environment by following safe practices
- Keeping security information confidential by following all established privacy and information laws and company policies.
- Updating job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
- Accomplishing organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests while exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Desired Qualifications:
- experience is a plus in installing and/or servicing intrusion, fire alarm, access control, and CCTV security systems
- Climb ladders that extend up to 24 ft. in height
- Carry items up to 75 pounds
- Ability to work on-call on a rotational basis covering after hours and weekend emergency calls
- A valid driver’s license, without restrictions is required, along with a clean driving record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Vocational/technical Degree in electrical security, or computer systems preferred or the equivalent combination of education and related work experience
Public contact position. May use company vehicle. Expenses paid for infrequent travel out of town. Must pass security screening. No felonies. Wage DOEQ.
Central Monitoring Personnel
Job Description:
The Monitors at Knight Security monitor commercial and residential burglary, fire detection, access control, medical monitoring, environmental monitoring and other types of security systems.
Position Responsibilities:
- Follow established procedures and guidelines to correctly handle and dispatch incoming alarms, trouble signals and information from customer’s systems
- Utilize provided tools to assist customers with questions and requests via phone calls and emails
- Keeping security information confidential by following all established privacy and information laws and company policies.
- Maintaining and updating customer records in both electronic and paper copy formats
Desired Qualifications:
- Flexible availability with holiday availability is preferred
- Previous experience with basic computer usage
- Some typing skills required
- Previous customer service experience
- Previous call center experience preferred but will train the correct applicant
- Reliable transportation
- Must be able to work under own supervision
- Must be at least 18 years of age due to insurance
